The Reggio Approach and the Rights of Children, Parents and Educators

“How to improve the quality of education and life in our communities”

 

Experiences in dialogue:
Amelia Gambetti, Reggio Emilia, Italy
Beth MacDonald, St. Paul, MN – MacDonald Montessori School (infants to 8)
Jerry Bates and Jennifer Kesselring, Tulsa, OK – Riverfield School (infants to 18)
Educators of the Evansville Reggio Collaborative (infants to 5)

 

The main contents of the Summer Institute will be:

  • Children and their potentialities
  • The Hundred Languages
  • Participation in the life of the school and in the community
  • The action of listening and building relationships
  • Observation, interpretation, educational research and documentation
  • Parents involvement
  • The role of the adults
  • Collaboration and collegiality
  • The role of the environment.

 

These contents, values and educational principles of the Reggio Approach will be included and interpreted in the different presentations from Reggio Emilia, St. Paul, Tulsa and from the Evansville Reggio Collaborative, part of the Summer Institute Program.
