Fort Wayne Chapter  with the DeKalb, Allen, Whitley, Noble Chapter

of the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children

2017 Conference

“Connecting the Mind, Body & Heart”

Keynote: Monica McCarthy
from Powerful Interactions

A teacher interacts with the children all day long.  It’s how the warm and responsive relationships in which young children learn best are built.  But interactions in which teachers intentionally promote learning can be few and far between.  A “Powerful Interaction” may last only a few minutes, but in that time the teacher tunes out any distractions, tunes into the child, and then presents a learning experience tailored to that child at that moment. Whether you work in an child care center or home, Early Head Start or Head Start program, ministry preschool or early primary classroom, you make a difference in the lives of children and families — and Powerful Interactions can make that difference even BIGGER.

Gatchel </span>pictureI want to express my sincere gratitude to you for making the T.E.A.C.H scholarship possible.  I recently graduated with honors from Saint Mary’s of-the-Woods College with a Bachelors Degree. My degree will help me in meeting the needs of the children that are enrolled in my all day preschool. It also shows parents that by enrolling their child in my facility that their child’s educational needs are being met by a qualified teacher.  My accomplishment of graduating from college is also a testimony to others that it is never too late to go after your dreams. The financial assistance you provided allowed me to concentrate more of my time on my studies.  As a result, I received the Future Outstanding Educator award from the Indiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.  I was also a recipient of the Kappa Gamma Pi St. Catherine Medal. Thank you T.E.A.C.H Early Childhood® INDIANA for your generosity and support!
